New 'Battleship' Trailer: 'Transformers' At Ocean?
There's something serious happening within the new "Battleship" trailer: explosions. Also, Beyonce (we believe). Within the trailer, which first showed at Apple today, there are many robots that become other activities (we can not legally say they "transform," are we able to?), and a lot of super slow-mo shots of lovely people searching really, really confused and upset. Fans of "Friday Evening Lights" is going to be stoked to determine Tim Riggins (also known as "John Carter" leading guy Taylor Kitsch) getting his game on, but sadly, nobody states "You sunk my battleship!" -- that may defang the film of their importance. Possibly that's only a sacrifice we'll need to learn how to accept, childhood reminiscences be damned... or possibly Liam Neeson will surprise all of us using the zinger from the summer time. The game-switched-movie is type of an unusual pick to have an finish-of-the-world plot featuring CGI aliens, but hey, such is Hollywood. Peter Berg ("Hancock") has selected weirder concepts to utilize ("Hancock," for just one), so perhaps the entire factor will accomplish with no hitch. There always must be a minumum of one blockbuster to start the summer time season of large guns going boom and dudes striking one another, and possibly "Battleship" is simply that ticket. "Battleship," starring Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Beyonce and Liam Neeson, comes to theaters next summer time on May 18, 2012. Allow the fight from the ships... begin.
